Olaf Tufte's Stroke Cycle

The pictures below are of Olaf Tufte, World Champion Single Sculler 2003.
The source is (with permission) from the FISA DVD of the Milan World Championships 2003.
There are 48 frames, each representing 0.033 seconds.
The stroke rate is 37.9, with the recovery to drive time of 25:23 (it's difficult to be exact about where one starts and the other finishes.)

Interesting to see the shins don't reach vertical at the catch, and the initial connection is (IMO) made by shoulder/arms.
